Devon Franklin to Produce Film Based on Cory Asbury’s Song ‘Reckless Love’ For Paramount

Producer, author and motivational speaker Devon Franklin has been tapped to produce the feature film based on Cory Asbury’s popular Christian worship song, Reckless Love. The film was picked up by Paramount Pictures from a pitch by To All the Boys: PS I Still Love You writer, J. Mills Goodloe. The film has acquired a first look deal and is set to be produced by Franklin’s company, Franklin Entertainment. Christian music artist, Israel Houghton, is executive producing the project with Paramount’s Ashley Brucks and Alex Rosario overseeing alongside Franklin Entertainment’s Katarina Hicks.

Goodloe will be writing the Reckless Love screenplay which is based on the true love story recounted in Asbury’s song of the same name. The film will tell the love story between Cory, his wife Anna, and four children who live in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Devon Franklin began his career as an intern for Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, soon moving up to become Director of Development at Sony’s Columbia Pictures. During his time at Columbia, the producer oversaw the films The Pursuit of Happiness, Hancock, Jumping the Broom, the remake of Annie and many more. Franklin is also responsible for Heaven is Real, Miracles from Heaven, and most currently Breakthrough with Chrissy Metz via Franklin Entertainment. The producer has biopics on Kirk Franklin and the creator of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos entitled, Flamin’ Hot, directed by Eva Longoria in his pipeline. Franklin is also a New York Times best selling author for his 2015 book, The Wait.
