Junebug stars child actor Calah Lane, as young Junie, BET’s “Rebel” star Danielle Moné Truitt (FOX’s “Deputy”) and Emmy award-winning actor Terrence Terrell (Marvel’s “Bosch”, BET’s “First Wives Club,” Skin Deep, Batwoman) as Davis.
Junie, a writer, is inundated with memories as she struggles to tell the story of growing up with Davis, her dysfunctional musician father. At 28, Junie is a writer, obsessed with capturing the essence of her childhood growing up with her musician father, Davis. Davis, an alcoholic drummer with an infectious charm and an unending tenderness for his daughter is proving difficult for Junie to put into words. As Junie struggles to articulate Davis in her writing and to her boyfriend Calvin, she’s transported back in time through her own childhood memories of him and their undeniable transported back in time through her own childhood memories of him and their undeniable connection. How do you explain someone both impossible to love and impossible not to? JUNEBUG is an exploration of the fierce love between a daughter and father, the complexities of an absence that words can’t touch, the nostalgic and transitive power of music and the wonderland of memory. The film shows the love between a young girl and her father and expands on the impact of their relationship through her adulthood as an artist with fond, yet emotionally complicated memories of growing up with her dad. Winter Dunn’s Bio

Winter Dunn is an award winning producer, director and actress hailing from Gary, IN with a passion for depicting rich Black stories. She produced Numa Perrier’s debut feature film, JEZEBEL which premiered at SXSW 2019 and was awarded Best Narrative Feature at the American Black Film Festival that same year. JEZEBEL has been acquired by Ava DuVernay and is currently streaming on Netflix. Most recently, Dunn directed season one of SoulPancake, Overbrook and 206 Productions’ upcoming docuseries, “All Her with Angela Rye” for Quibi. As an actress, Winter can be seen on screen in several shorts, web series and television series, including credits on Netflix’s “Drug Lords, ”Issa Rae’s “Insecure,” plus, digital programs with FUSE, BuzzFeed, NYLON.

In her day to day, Winter produces and directs digital editorial content for Condé Nast Entertainment. Her celebrity video features for Vanity Fair, Vogue, Architectural Digest, GQ, Allure and other media brands have garnered over 60 million views and counting. Dunn has directed multiple web series including the romantic web series, “Platonic,” which premiered at the 2019 American Black Film Festival (ABFF) and was picked up to stream on the NBC Watchback app and Black & Sexy’s “Broke & Sexy” web series, which follows three girls struggling to live their best lives with no money, mo’ problems in Los Angeles.
Winter is also the CEO of Winter Dunn Productions (WDP), a full-service multimedia production house, based in Los Angeles. The company’s debut film, JUNEBUG premiered at the 2020 American Black Film Festival, spotlighting Dunn under the Emerging Directors category. The film is also an official selection of the 2020 Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival. Winter is a graduate of the Chicago Academy for the Arts and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Fordham University.
