Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Loki, The Morning Show, Belle, The Girl Before) joins Kevin Hart as the female lead in F. Gary Gray’s action film “Lift” along with Vincent D’Onofrio (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Godfather of Harlem, The Unforgivable), Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist, Snake Eyes) and Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die, Game Night).
Yun Jee Kim (The Last Empress), Viveik Kalra (Blinded by the Light) and Paul Anderson (Nightmare Alley, Peaky Blinders) also join the cast.
Hart will play a master thief who is wooed by his former girlfriend and the FBI to pull off an impossible heist with his international crew recruited to prevent a terrorist attack, and must pull off the heist on a plane mid-flight.

Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha-Raw is an English actress. After studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she began acting in British television and stage productions, appearing in the science-fiction series Doctor Who (2007), and went on to appear in Tom Hanks’ comedy film Larry Crowne (2011), and the short-lived television series Undercovers (2010) and Touch (2012).
Mbatha-Raw’s breakthrough came with the British period drama Belle (2013), for which she won the BIFA Award for Best Actress, and the romantic drama Beyond the Lights (2014). Her leading performance as the titular character in Jessica Swale’s 2015 play Nell Gwynn earned her a nomination for the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Actress. She gained critical acclaim for her starring role in “San Junipero” (2016), an episode in season three of the anthology series Black Mirror. Her career progressed with roles in the films Miss Sloane (2016), Beauty and the Beast (2017), Motherless Brooklyn (2019), Misbehaviour (2020), the Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2019), and the Disney+ series Loki (2021).
