Hakim can be seen reprising her starring role as Dana in season three of Apple TV +  critically acclaimed comedy series, “Mythic Quest” opposite Rob McElhenney. Dana is a driven and studious video game tester, steadily proving herself in a male-dominated industry, and finding her voice in her career. The show debuted its first season in 2020 to rave reviews, with media outlets saying: “the single funniest things I’ve watched this year” (TIME), “…their wild, clever, selfish characters can bounce around unlike any other currently on TV.” (Variety) and “It’s a smart, energetic series that contains what may be the most important element in a successful comedy: “an alchemical ensemble of characters, each one as curious and distinct as the next” (Boston Globe). The comedy explores a fictional video game studio behind the popular online multiplayer game, “Mythic Quest“. “Mythic Quest” debuted season three on Apple TV+ November 11, 2022.

About Imani Hakim
On the film front, Hakim portrayed Olympic Gold Medalist, Gabby Douglas in Lifetime’s award-winning “The Gabby Douglas Story”. Hakim describes her experience telling Gabby’s story as a privilege portraying someone so influential for many young women, including herself. A true multi-hyphenate talent, Hakim recently starred in and co-produced the independent film “Dinner Party” which successfully made rounds in the 2021 film festival circuit including SCAD Savannah Film Festival, 44th Asian American International Film Festival, Portland Film Festival, and more. The award-winning film centers around a group of childhood friends who get together for a reunion dinner with their significant others, and they soon come to realize that they have changed just as much as the social climate of racism, sexism, and classism in today’s world.  All the while, a verdict is incoming on a controversial court case that has captured the nation’s attention and that verdict will have an impact on not only the nation but this group of friends. The first producing credit to her name, Hakim was immediately attracted to the concept of “Dinner Party” and the way the story encourages normalizing conversations that tackle uncomfortable realities within your own inner circle, from micro-aggressions experienced by black and indigenous people of color, to the effects of sexual misconduct.

While working in front and behind the camera has kept Hakim busy over the years, she also prioritizes fitness and mental health through living an active lifestyle. She is passionate about utilizing her social media platforms to advocate for body positivity, encouraging her followers to live a healthy lifestyle and break away from stereotypical societal body norms. Hakim also enthusiastically supports causes close to her heart focusing on women’s rights, LGBTQI+, BIOPIC, and AAPI communities. She has taken strides to further expand her spiritual side, by focusing her attention on ways of letting go and staying present, including meditation, journaling, and taking social media breaks when necessary. She is a firm believer in the importance of balance and taking time for yourself to show up as your best self.
