Jessica Williams Talks ‘LOVE LIFE’ Season 2

Blackfilm.com correspondent Ellen Wanjiru chats with Jessica Williams (The Daily Show, 2 Dope Queens) about her noteworthy and relatable character “Mia Hines” in season 2 of HBO Max’s romantic comedy anthology series LOVE LIFE.

Love Life focuses on Marcus Watkins (Emmy nominee and executive producer William Jackson Harper). After his marriage unexpectedly implodes, Marcus is forced to rebuild his life brick by brick, hoping to find a love that will last, once and for all. The ten-episode season concluded on November 11.

Like season one, each episode is a chapter focused on a different defining relationship and the episodes skip forward through time, showing how our relationships shape our lives.

Season two also stars series regulars Punkie Johnson and Chris “Comedian CP” Powell; recurring guest stars Arian Moayed, Leslie Bibb and John Earl Jelks; and guest stars Maya Kazan, Ego Nwodim, Kimberly Elise, Blair Underwood, Janet Hubert, Jordan Rock and Steven Boyer. Keith David narrates. Season one’s Anna Kendrick, who also executive produces, Zoë Chao, Peter Vack, Sasha Compére and Nick Thune appear in season two.

LOVE LIFE season two is co-showrun by creator Sam Boyd, Bridget Bedard and Rachelle Williams. Boyd, Bedard and Williams serve as executive producers with Anna Kendrick, William Jackson Harper, Paul Feig and Dan Magnante. Jessica Williams

Jessica Renee Williams is an American actress and comedienne best known for her work as a senior correspondent on The Daily Show. Williams also made appearances on Season 3 of HBO’s Girls. She appears in the film People Places Things. She co-hosted the comedy podcast 2 Dope Queens with Phoebe Robinson. Williams appears in an HBO special spun off from the podcast in February, 2018. She is the star of the 2017 Netflix comedy movie The Incredible Jessica James, in which she portrays a character whom the Guardian described as “a struggling Brooklyn-based playwright navigating the murky waters of modern romance while waiting impatiently for her big break.” She appeared in the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, titled Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks, a teacher from the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
