Universal Pictures has announced that the third installment of Malcolm D. Lee’s ‘Best Man’ franchise, The Best Man Wedding, will be released on April 15, 2016.
The cast of THE BEST MAN series returns to celebrate the group’s most unexpected wedding to date. Lee again writes and directs the third film with Sean Daniel (“The Best Man Holiday”) returning to produce the film.
After the original (The Best Man) was released back in 1999 with a number one opening weekend, a sequel finally hit theaters nearly 15 years later. Released last November, The Best Man Holiday starred Monica Calhoun, Morris Chestnut, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Harold Perrineau.
Produced for just $17 million, the film had a $30.1 million opening weekend. It grossed more than $70 million at the domestic box office.
