Natalie Deselle-Reid, Star of ‘B.A.P.S’, Dies at 53

B.A.P.S actress, Natalie Deselle-Reid, has passed away at age 53. In a statement posted on the actresses Instagram account, the news was confirmed stating “It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Natalie this morning from colon cancer. She was a bright light in this world. A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife. Her diverse career touched so many and she will be loved forever. Naturally, we are grieving and processing this profound loss and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this extremely difficult time.”

Deselle-Reid’s manager, Delores Robinson, posted a tweet expressing her grief saying, “Natalie was a bright light. She was an amazing actress and comedienne but also an awesome mother & wife. Sending prayers to her family.” Robinson’s daughter and actress, Holly Robinson-Peete, also shared the news via Twitter saying, “Just absolutely decimated by this news… Actress Natalie Desselle, a bright shining star passed away this morning. I got to know her when my mom was managing her.”

Deselle-Reid made her breakout performance in the Robert Townsend directed film B.A.P.S alongside Halle Berry. The actress went on to have roles in How to Be A Player, EVE, and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. She is survived by her husband, Leonard, and three daughters, Sereno, Summer, and Sasha.
