According to Deadline, NBC has put in development Like Father, Like Son, a half-hour comedy from Will Packer Productions and Universal TV that’s based on Packer’s life experiences.
Written by Michael Pennie (Raising Hope), who is under an overall deal at Uni TV, Like Father, Like Son is inspired by actual events from Packer’s life. It centers on a recently divorced man in his early thirties who is just starting to enjoy the benefits of being young, successful and single when he learns he has a fifteen-year-old son from a one-night-stand he had in college.
Packer and Pennie executive produce, with Will Packer Productions head of TV Korin Huggins co-executive producing.
Packer recently scored his 7th #1 opening film with No Good Deed, which stars Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson. His other productions include Ride Along (2014), Think Like A Man Too (2014), Think Like A Man (2012), Takers (2010), Obsessed (2008) and Stomp The Yard (2007). He also produced This Christmas and The Gospel.
