Kenan follows the life of Kenan Williams, a recently widowed host of Atlanta’s #2 morning show, “Wake Up with Kenan!”. Kenan thinks he’s adjusted to life as a busy, single parent. However, his father-in-law, Rick, and brother, Gary, along with his co-workers, all have strong opinions on the best way to live his life. After everyone confronts him about denying his grief, he realizes it’s time to make some changes.
Executive producing the show is SNL creator Lorne Michaels along with Thompson, David Caspe, Jackie Clarke, Ken Whittingham and Andrew Singer. Kenan is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Broadway Video.
Kenan Thompson began his career as a comedic child prodigy staring in Nickelodeon’s teen sketch comedy show All That. Thompson soon landed his own show with Kel Mitchell on the series Kenan & Kel. The actor starred in many childhood movie favorites like D2: The Mighty Ducks, Good Burger and Love Don’t Cost a Thing. He continues his comedic career by starring on NBC’s long-running sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live since 2003 – making him the longest tenured cast member in the show’s history.
