20th Century Fox want to give you the first look at “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” today at 2:30PM PDT. Join the Academy Award® winning visual effects house, WETA Digital for a behind-the-scenes look at the rendering and creation of the apes, as well as exclusive footage from the summer’s most anticipated film.
The film opens in theaters everywhere August 5, 2011.
WETA Digital, the industry leading VFX team behind films like “Avatar” and “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy, will host a livestream event, which you can sit and watch with the player below.
Director Rupert Wyatt will also be there to discuss the technology developed for the film, bringing the characters to life in the cautionary tale that blends science fiction and science fact.
“Rise of the Planet of the Apes” is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
