The Birth of Deceit, Nine Nights, & Uncovered Among Selections For 2019 Chelsea Film Festival

The 7th Edition of the Chelsea Film Festival will take place at AMC Loews 34th St theater of New York City from October 17-20, 2019. Among the films selected is the psychological thriller ‘The Birth of Deceit,’ written and directed by Yaw Agyapong. It will be the closing night film.

A girl returns to her hometown only to find out that the fate of her parents wasn’t what she originally thought it was. Along the way she befriends a woman who knows more than she’s willing to let on. Ambar and her friend will have to fight for their lives to uncover the truth.

Chelsea Film Festival was created in 2013 by mother-daughter French duo Ingrid and Sonia Jean-Baptiste, dedicated to supporting emerging filmmakers from around the world, with a strong “Global Issue” Focus. The Chelsea Film Festival is an international film platform for world lover.

20 feature films have been selected in the 2019 Official Lineup. 

8 countries are represented this year: Australia, USA, UK, France, Turkey, India, Japan and South Africa.

18 films are in competition for the Chelsea Film Festival Grand Prix. 

9 films are World Premieres, 3 are US Premieres, 6 are NY Premieres and 2 films are Out of Competition.
