On August 18, 2011, actress Terri J. Vaughn and Rashan Ali hosted a private opening soiree for Vaughn’s newest concept lounge – The Green Room.
The Green Room is the creative vision of actress, producer and owner Terri J. Vaughn and is co-owned by Film Producer Roger Bobb (BobbCat Films), Attorney Shannon Nash and retired NBA Player, Adonal Foyle.
An actor’s haven, The Green Room Lounge will serve as a specialty theatrical bookstore and performance space. Reminiscent of an intimate living room space with a rich artistic aesthetic combined with rare cultural notes, the lounge boasts vintage chandeliers and fixtures; walls adorned with classic movie novelty to span a multitude of genres, and comfy seating and coffee tables to spark intimate conversations or private studying. The Green Room Lounge provides a place for established and burgeoning actors alike, musicians, and seasoned entertainment professionals seeking new talent.The lounge also includes a twenty five seat theater, equipped with stage, lights and sound equipment which will be used for conducting acting workshops, small performances and playing live music.
The Green Room is a new concept lounge and entertainment/arts community haven in Atlanta located at 25-D Bennett Street, Atlanta, GA 30309. From plays by writers such as of Neil Simon, Arthur Miller, August Wilson, David Mamet, and even today’s more contemporary playwrights, to books on acting techniques, industry professionals’ autobiographies, and the entertainment industry at large; everything an actor, director, producer or show business novice could want, can be found at The Green Room. The Green Room will have a fully stocked Coffee and Tea Bar, featuring exclusive appetizing pastries and snacks. Guests will be able to sip and browse and relax with free Wi-fi. The Green Room also offers a slate of acting classes for adults, kids and teenagers taught by some of the most sought after actors and instructors in the business. In addition, there will be acting classes for special needs kids through a partnership with Actors for Autism, as well as a variety of specialized classes related to the business of the entertainment industry. The Green Room is the place to be to get an education both in front of and behind the camera.
About Terri J. Vaughn:
Terri J. Vaughn has entertained us on television for more than ten years. First, she stole America’s heart with her lovable portrayal of Lovita Alizay Jenkins on “The Steve Harvey Show,” then Vaughn made her way to UPN’s “All of Us” and now she brings Renee, a sassy and hilarious nurse, to life on Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns. Vaughn has been honored with three Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work on “The Steve Harvey Show” and was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on “Soulfood.” Also included on Vaughn’s resume are the Tyler Perry’s “Daddy’s Little Girls,” the independent dramedy, “Dirty Laundry,” “3 Can Play That Game” and she just wrapped on two films where she played the lead characters, “Soul Ties” and “The Marriage Chronicles.” Through her Atlanta based production company Nina Holiday Entertainment, along with her partner Cas Sigers, Vaughn produced the documentary “Angels Can’t Help But Laugh.” They are currently filming, “A Cross To Bear,” and developing their first television series.
