Tom Cruise Has Returned His Three Golden Globes Joining In Protest of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association

Tom Cruise has been added to a growing list of actors protesting the Hollywood Foreign Press Association by returning the three Golden Globes he has won over the course of his career.

According to Deadline, Cruise sent the three trophies back to the HFPA headquarters today. The returned awards include Best Actor in 1990 for his role in Born on the Forth of July, Best Actor in 1997 for his role in Jerry Maguire and Best Supporting Actor in 2000 for his role in Magnolia.

Cruise is added to a growing list which includes Netflix, Amazon and NBC as many are taking a stand against the organizations slow movement to action in addressing and reforming their clear lack of diversity. NBC has cancelled next years broadcast.

Much of the growing conversation took place post the 2021 Golden Globes with actors like Tiffany Haddish calling the HFPA to the mat and pointing out the glaring imbalance and trending the hashtag #TimesUpGlobes.
