Based on Trinidadian filmmaker Maya Cozier’s short film of the same name, comes the feature length version — SHE PARADISE, a story of sisterhood, sexuality, and self-discovery. Directed and written by Cozier and co-written by Melina Brown, SHE PARADISE premieres In Theaters, On Demand and Digital on November 19, 2021. Watch trailer below.
SYNOPSIS: 17 year old Sparkle discovers a free spirited group of Soca dancers at a car show in the bustling streets of downtown Trinidad. Enamored by the glimpse of sisterhood, she uses her wit to convince them to take her under their wing. The women bring Sparkle into a dizzying nightlife of partying, glamour, and money, but as things spiral out of control, Sparkle is forced to make some tough decisions.

About the Director:
Maya Cozier was raised by artist parents—Irenée Shaw and Christopher Cozier—in the Caribbean twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. She gained years of experience working as a dancer/choreographer for music videos and television shows before transitioning into directing them. Her short films have shown at festivals internationally, winning awards the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam and Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival. She is currently pursuing an MFA at Columbia University.
