USA Network has release the first official trailer for Briarpatch, starring Rosario Dawson. The first two of Briarpatch‘s 10 episodes will world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, Sept. 7, while the series itself will land on USA Network sometime in 2020.
Dawson stars as determined investigator Allegra Dill returning to her hometown to investigate the explosive murder of her sister. From mysterious deaths and corruption, to occasional car explosions and zoo animals on the loose, it’s a wild ride through the town of Saint Disgrace.

The new crime anthology series hails from writer-executive producer Andy Greenwald, executive producer Sam Esmail, Universal Cable Prods. and Paramount Television.
Based on the Ross Thomas novel, Briarpatch was written for television by Greenwald, who executive produces alongside Mr. Robot and Homecoming‘s Esmail through his production company Esmail Corp and Anonymous Content’s Chad Hamilton. Ana Lily Amirpour directed the pilot and also served as an executive producer on the pilot. In addition to her starring role, Dawson is a producer on the series.
The cast also includes Jay R. Ferguson (Mad Men), Brian Geraghty (Chicago P.D.), Edi Gathegi (The Blacklist), Kim Dickens (Fear the Walking Dead), Alan Cumming (The Good Wife) and Ed Asner (Mr. Grant).
