During its CinemaCon presentation this week in Las Vegas, Paramount Pictures announced the cast of “Mission: Impossible 6,” which includes the return of Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Alec Baldwin as Alan Hunley, and Sean Harris returning as ‘Rogue Nation’ villain Solomon Lane.

New additions to the cast are Henry Cavill, Sian Brooke and Vanessa Kirby.

Jeremy Renner, who appeared in the last two films, was not included in the cast.

Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote and directed the fifth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, is back  as writer-director.

Rhames is the only actor besides Tom Cruise to appear in all six films.

Rhames only appeared towards the end of the fourth film, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, which grossed $694.7 million worldwide. Back in 2010, while promoting Death Race 2Rhames had this to say about being paid a hefty fee for that uncredited cameo:

I live a very simple life. If I’m supposed to make 7.7 million US dollars and they’re offering me three, I don’t know if that’s going to work. I did the last one for more than three million, there’s no misunderstanding – it’s 7.7 million or no!

Shooting for the sixth installment will take place in London, Paris, India and New Zealand. They will also shoot in IMAX 3D. Slated to begin production shortly, “Mission: Impossible 6” hits cinemas on July 27th 2018.
