Yolonda Ross has been added to the cast of Ana Lily Amirpour’s “The Bad Batch,” joining Keanu Reeves, Jim Carrey, Suki Waterhouse and Jason Momoa, who were previously announced.

Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures and Vice’s Danny Gabai and Sina Sayyah will co-produce the film.

Details on the plot have been kept limited except The Wrap calls the film “a post-apocalyptic tale set in a Texas wasteland where a community of cannibals reside,” and that it is “a love story about a cannibal known as Miami Man (Momoa) and his food.”

Waterhouse, playing a young woman named Arlen. Luna will play a guy named Jimmy, Reeves a character called The Dream, and Carrey will play The Hermit. Ross has the role of Maria.

Amirpour was a recent winner of the Gotham Award for breakthrough director for her debut feature “A Girl Walks Home Along at Night.”

Ross was recently seen as Whitney Houston‘s longtime friend Robyn Crawford in the Lifetime TV biopic ‘Whitney,’ which was directed by Angela Bassett. Upcoming films include roles alongside Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis in Charles Stone III‘s indie movie “Lila & Eve” and “Meadowlands,” which will screen at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.

Production on “The Bad Batch” begins in April in Los Angeles.
