Warner Bros. Pictures has releases a new trailer for War Dogs, directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover trilogy) and starring Jonah Hill & Miles Teller.
Based on a true story the film follows two friends in their early 20’s (Hill and Teller) living in Miami during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a $300 million deal to arm the Afghan Military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.
The film also stars Ana de Armas, Barry Livingston, Shaun Toub, JB Blanc, Barbra Roylance, Ashley Spillers, Brenda Koo, Roman Mitichyan, Lucas Di Medio, Aaron Lustig, Bryan Chesters, Jeff Pierre, Maria F. Blanco, Holly Traister, Mehdi Merali, Max Daniels, Ashli Haynes, and Said Faraj.
Stephen Chin, Todd Phillips & Jason Smilovic wrote the screenplay, which was based on the Rolling Stone article titled “Arms and the Dudes,” by Guy Lawson. Mark Gordon, Todd Phillips and Bradley Cooper are the producers, while David Siegel and Bryan Zuriff serve as executive producers.
War Dogs will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in theaters on August 19.
