Carl Clemons-Hopkins (Hamilton, Candyman) has been added as series regular for the cast of Jean Smart’s Untitled comedy coming to HBO Max. The series is created by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky. Executive producing are Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Emmy winners Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment and Morgan Sackett. The Untitled Jean Smart comedy series explores a dark mentorship that forms between Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a legendary Las Vegas comedian, and an entitled, outcast 25-year-old (Hannah Einbinder). Clemons-Hopkins stars as Marcus, Deborah’s trusted longtime COO. Hannah Einbinder (Just For Laugh’s 2019 New Face of Comedy, stand up on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert) has been added alongside Clemons-Hopkins as series regular playing, Ava, the young writer Deborah is forced to hire.
Also joining the series for recurring roles are; Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, The Mick), Christopher McDonald (Thelma & Louise, Happy Gilmore), Paul W. Downs (Broad City, Rough Night), Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty, White Bird in a Blizzard), Poppy Liu (Better Call Saul, Sunnyside), Johnny Sibilly (Pose, Logo Live), Meg Stalter (Tooning Out the News, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson) and Rose Abdoo (Gilmore Girls, Parenthood).
Carl Clemons-Hopkins is an actor and producer known for for La méduse rouge (2013), The Mix and Serve (2018) and Chicago P.D. (2014). The actor has also starred in the popular Showtime drama The Chi. He can currently be seen on episodes of Chicago Med and in the upcoming Jordan Peele horror flic, Candyman. Clemons-Hopkins is represented by Stewart Talent.
