Denzel Washington is back in blue for his latest role in the John Lee Hancock psychological thriller The Little Things. Bohemian Rhapsody actor Rami Malek and Dallas Buyers Club actor Jared Leto (making the entire lead cast Oscar winners) are starring alongside Washington, with Malek playing Washington’s partner in a murder investigation with Leto as the lead suspect. Other than a stellar cast, the film is receiving key interest because it will be the first of 17 WB films to be released simultaneously in theaters and HBO Max as part of their 2021 deal.
Entertainment Weekly offered insight on Leto’s inspiration to work on the film – naming Washington as his main motivator. “Denzel Washington, to me, he’s my Brando, Pacino, De Niro all rolled up into one,” says Leto. “The opportunity to work with him, I couldn’t pass that up. And then on top of that, Rami, the icing on the cake, a force to be reckoned with, and someone I was really excited to spend time with.”
The Little Things debuts in theaters nationwide and on HBO Max January 29, 2021. Get a first look image, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, above.
