Director and writer for the film GOLDS, Moses Lawi, is a 2020 graduate from Arizona State University. While at Arizona State University, Lawi studied Film Media Production. Lawi says that the film GOLDS was inspired by his background and wanted the audience to know this film is about the choices you make to help loved ones. Lawi also added a little Swahili into the film because of his birthplace Tanzania.

GOLDS was such a joy and an inspirational film to watch. The main character is a young boy named Mercy, who tries to find different ways to help his ill mother pay the bills. Mercy learns the value of trusting others and working hard to find his way to live. This story will inspire younger children or even adults to tap into their inner
entrepreneur and keep fighting to survive. GOLDS has won multiple awards at the Indie Short Fest Los Angeles International Film Festival for July 2020 and has won various awards from the Cinema WorldFest Awards 2020.
