The Amber Ruffin Show to Air on NBC

Peacock’s late-night The Amber Ruffin Show is getting a spot on its linear TV network NBC. On Friday, Feb. 26 and Friday, March 5. NBC will be broadcasting that evening’s episode of the breakout hit at 1:30 a.m. ET/PT. The Amber Ruffin Show to Air on NBC

Episodes will be airing in a slot usually reserved for repeat episodes of A Little Late with Lilly Singh. The replacement will enable the network to improve on the time slot with original programming. The Amber Ruffin Show drops new episodes every Friday on Peacock. 

The Amber Ruffin Show showcases Amber’s signature smart and silly take on the week’s news. Ruffin responds to world news with a charming mix of seriousness, nonsense, and evening gowns. The network describes the show as a topical late-night show with just the good parts – the comedy. Ruffin is a familiar face to viewers of NBC’s late-night lineup via her continued work as an Emmy Award-nominated writer and performer on Late Night with Seth Meyers, making her the first Black woman to write for a late-night network talk show in the U.S.

The show is written by Demi Adejuyigbe, Dewayne Perkins, Shantira Jackson and Ruffin. Jenny Hagel serves as head writer. Executive producing is Ruffin alongside Hagel, Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker. Producing is Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions.

In more achievements, the show was recently nominated for a WGA Award and received an additional 10 episode order. Ruffin was also included on the 2021 TIME100 Next List, TIME’s list of the next 100 most influential people in the world and will be writing for the Broadway-bound musical Some Like It Hot.
