Zoe Kravitz is set to star in Steven Soderbergh’s lates project, Kimi, for HBO Max. Deadline broke the news today. The projects comes under Soderbergh’s overall deal with the streamer, being onboarded as director for the feature from New Line Max Original, premiering exclusively on HBO Max. Kimi chronicles an agoraphobic tech worker (Kravitz) who discovers recorded evidence of a violent crime during an ordinary data stream review and tries reporting it up the chain of command at her company. Meeting with resistance and bureaucracy, she realizes that in order to get involved, she will have to do the thing she fears the most — leave her apartment. The script was written by David Koepp, who will also be producing alongside Michael Polaire.
The daughter of Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz, Zoe has been featured in several film and television projects. She has played a diverse set of roles being cast in a number of action packed movies such as 2015’s Insurgent, 2016’s Allegiant, and as Angel Salvadore in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. Following along this trend, Kravitz recently landed the highly anticipated role of Batwoman in Matt Reeve’s The Batman. On the television side, Kravitz has been captivating audiences with her roles on HBO’s Big Little Lies and her very own Hulu series, High Fidelity. Both shows can be streamed now on HBO Max and Hulu.
