After four glorious and turbulent and ole-so awkward seasons on HBO, Insecure will come to its conclusion with the upcoming fifth season.
“Prentice and I are so grateful that HBO believed in our show from the beginning and kept faith in us to see our vision through the end,” co-creator and star Issa Rae told Deadline. Penny has kept busy teaming with Netflix for his feature directorial debut film, Uncorked. Written and directed by Prentice Penny, it starred Mamoudou Athie, Courtney B. Vance, Niecy Nash, Matt McGorry, Sasha Compère, Gil Ozeri, Kelly Jenrette, Bernard David Jones, Melisia Lomax and Meera Rohit Kumbhani. Next, Penny has partnered with Chernin Entertainment on an untitled holiday film, which is based on an original concept from himself, his wife Tasha Penny, and Insecure co-executive producer Phil Augusta Jackson.
