Paramount Players has just signed on Overbrook Entertainment’s Clarence Hammond as SVP of Production. At Paramount Hammond will be overseeing the development and production of the label’s contemporary genre fare. To Deadline, Hammond says of the new venture, “I am honored and excited to be joining Jeremy, and the entire team at Players, in building out the banner as a bastion of original voices.”
During his decade plus run at Overbrook as VP of Production, Hammond produced and developed a number of award winning content. He produced HBO Max’s Charm City Kings, which won a U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Ensemble Acting at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. He produced the Apple TV+ drama and Jada Pinkett-Smith executive produced, Hala, which appeared at the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2019 Sundance Festival. Hammond is also responsible for the American Black Film Festival Jury Award winning film, Sprinter, which can be currently streamed on Netflix. Most recently, Hammond developed and produced the Jaden Smith and Cara Delevingne headed, Life in a Year, released on Amazon Prime Video Thanksgiving weekend.
