Actor Paul James has recently been added to Vanessa Bayer’s Showtime pilot I Love This for You. The show – formerly named Big Deal – will also star Hollywood veteran Cybil Shepard and SNL alum Molly Shannon in the half hour comedy. The show was co-created by the SNL player, Bayer, and SNL writer Jeremy Beiler. Michael Showalter is directing and executive producing the series alongside Jessi Klein (Black Monday), who will also serve as showrunner. Also executive producing are Megan Ellison from Annapurna Pictures and Sue Naegle and Jordana Mollick of Semi-Formal.
In, I Love This for You, Bayer plays a character inspired by her own past, who overcame childhood leukemia to achieve her lifelong dream of landing a job as a successful home shopping channel host. James will play the charming, down-to-earth stage manager at a successful home shopping network, Jordan Wahl.
Jordan is most known for his role in ABC’s comedy Greek and can also be seen opposite Aaron Paul in The Path and 2019’s The Hot Zone. More recently, James leads with Jenna Dewan in Netflix’s romantic musical drama Soundtrack.
