CBS’s sitcom The Neighborhood is set to wrap up after its upcoming 8th season, bringing an end to a successful run that began in 2018. The series, created by Jim Reynolds, has been a staple of CBS’s comedy lineup, known for its sharp humor and heartfelt exploration of cultural differences.

A Look Back at the Success of The Neighborhood
The Neighborhood is a comedy starring Cedric the Entertainer as Calvin Butler, the unofficial mayor of his Pasadena neighborhood, where he lives with his wife, Tina (Tichina Arnold), and their two sons, Malcolm and Marty. The show follows the Butlers’ unlikely friendship with their neighbors, Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield), his wife Gemma (Beth Behrs), and their teenage son, Grover.
Over the years, the Johnsons have gone from newcomers to close friends with the Butlers — though Calvin would never admit it. After selling his auto shop, Calvin and Marty opened The Fuse Box, an electric vehicle repair shop. Marty also welcomed a baby girl with his co-worker Courtney (Skye Townsend). Meanwhile, Dave now works as a therapist at the Department of Veterans Affairs, and Gemma remains the principal at Walcott Academy. Despite their differences, the Butlers and Johnsons have built a strong bond, proving that family and friendship can thrive in even the most unexpected places.
