The Tomi Adeyemi Best-Selling Book Series ‘Children Of Blood And Bone’ Lands At Paramount

The Children Of Blood And Bone series is slated for fast tracked development after Paramount Pictures landed rights to the Tomi Adeyemi best-selling novel.

As reported by Deadline, the action fantasy film was the subject of a bidding war. between several major players including Universal, Amazon and Netflix. The project is being considered one of the more substantial properties available since the rights for The Hunger Games series hit the market.

Adeyemi is set to adapt, write and executive produce.

“Paramount’s passion and enthusiasm to bring this story to life has been incredible,” she said. “We are all so excited for this new chapter and are already hard at work.”

Sources available to Deadline also reported that Paramount’s offer included a seven-figure screenwriting guarantee, creative approvals for Adeyemi in addition to a guaranteed theatrical release.

“Tomi Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone has not only become a phenomenon in the YA world, it has transformed every expectation of what world-building fantasy can be,” said Daria Cerek, co-president of Paramount Pictures Motion Group. “It’s with enormous pride that our studio–along with Tomi and our partners Wyck, Marty and Karen–set out to bring this franchise to life on the big screen.
