Trailer: ‘After Yang’ Starring Colin Farrell & Jodie Turner-Smith

A24 recently released the official trailer for the new sci-fi drama After Yang. The film stars Colin Farrell (The Batman), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) and is directed by South Korean filmmaker Kogonada (Columbus). After Yang is set to debut in theaters and on Showtime on March 14.

When his young daughter’s beloved companion — an android named Yang — malfunctions, Jake (Colin Farrell) searches for a way to repair him. In the process, Jake discovers the life that has been passing in front of him, reconnecting with his wife (Jodie Turner-Smith) and daughter across a distance he didn’t know was there.

Also starring in the film are Justin H. Min (The Umbrella Academy), Haley Lu Richardson (Five Feet Apart) and newcomer Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja.

Written by Kogonada and Alexander Weinstein based on the Short Story by Weinstein, After Yang made its debut in July at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival before receiving its north American premier at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. At the fest, the film was presented the 2022 Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize, presented to an outstanding feature film about science or technology.
