SNL tweeted two Post-It Note’s on Oct. 31 simply reading: “Nov 7 Dave Chappelle”. The comedian will be hosting season 46’s sixth episode – the first episode after the nations Presidential election.
This will be Chappelle’s second time hosting the legendary sketch comedy show. Coincidentally enough, his freshman show aired the weekend after Donald Trump was elected to office in 2016. His monologue during the show was in typical Chappelle style – a perfect blend of race, politics and humor. The comedian touched on mass shooting, the Black Lives Matter Movement and expressed “I’m wishing Donald Trump luck, and I’m gonna give him a chance and we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one too.” Chappelle won an Emmy for his performance on the show.
Dave Chapelle recently released his Youtube comedy special 8:46 in commemoration of George Floyd’s murder and police brutality against the African American community. He can also be seen guest starring on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman on Netflix.
